I Love Weddings!

So this thing hit me in the arm while I was driving...just kidding.

Oh my. Rednecks across the way talking about how they are starting to get hair on their chests. Come on guys, save that for when you have had too many at the bar. I won't have to hear it that way.

I got the rare opportunity to go to a Tuesday morning wedding earlier this week (Tuesday morning to be more specific). It was different for sure. My buddy John got married and I was one of only thirty people who were invited to the ceremony. One of only two people who were invited in the capacity of friends. So if anyone else who is friends with John is reading this, just know he likes me better. The ceremony took place in Kumler chapel at Miami. I had never been inside Kumler, but it was about what I expected. Lovely enough for a building that had been stripped of as much overtly religious symbols as possible. The wedding was so small that everyone there sat around the sanctuary. None of the pews in the main seating area were used at all. The ceremony took about ten minutes. John was dressed in full Scottish garb because he is a doofus like that. And because when else are you going to be able to wear a kilt and be acceptable? After the ceremony we all took a group picture then I took off to try and see some people before lunch. Apparently I was called several times for other small groupings. Oh well. Lunch was delicious. Flat iron steak and mashed potatoes. The second best steak I had this week, but by far the cheapest. Now the happy couple are off to two weeks in Europe while I go back to my hum-drum week. At least it will feel short with a mini vacation in the middle.

"I have no gate key."
"Fezik, rip his arms off."

  1. I'm glad you can laugh about the fact that you had two disturbingly similar blentries. It was a little off-putting for me.
